A Greek story!
For a second time in a row a Greek crew is winning the ELPA Rally, the 9th round of this year’s ERC. Aris Vovos – «EL-EM» kept on their fast and safe pace, won 7 out of the 12 special stages and finished 1st overall 4:14.4 in front of Protasov-Aftanaziv who climbed 2nd after Solowow-Baran retirement, just two special stages before the final service. Third overall finished Tlustak-Skaloud in their first rally behind the wheels of the Skoda Fabia S2000. The crew from Czech Republic took advantage of Oleksowicz – Obrebowski’s retirement in SS10 due to broken gearbox and after a two days rough as mentioned rally managed to finish in the podium.
34 ELPA Rally proved as the ideal ERC round for Cerny – Kohout, as in their Citroen C2 R2 finished 6th overall, but most important, first among 2wheel drive participants, which automatically means that they won the 2WD Cup title.
Next round of European Rally Championship is Rallye Antibes Cote d’Azur on October 15-17.
