Local Supremacy!
The 8th round of the European Rally Championship took place in Spain, where the local Alberto Hevia claimed an easy victory behind the wheel of a Skoda Fabia S2000. The Italian Corrado Fontana, who is a participant of the ERC and was looking for a good result, was amongst the contenders for the win. But an exit from the road at the second special stage of the event forced him retire and let Hevia alone for the victory. The Spaniard set the fastest time in the majority of the special stages and finally took a comfortable win. His fellow countryman Victor Senra finished second. The most dramatic battle was that for third place, where Pedro Burdo retired in the very last special stage, allowing Miguel Fuster to enter the podium.
In terms of the European Championship, the Italian Luigi Fontana gained the points of the winner in a Peugeot 207 S2000, after finishing in 5th place and climbing to the 6th place of the standings. In 6th place and second of the ERC finished the Czech Antonin Tlustak in another 207 S2000.
