The Pole Kajetan Kajetanowicz, driving a Subaru Impreza was the winner of the 4th round of the European Rally Championship, the 67th Rally Poland, which was the first gravel event of the season. This was his maiden win in the most prestigious polish rally, while this result offered him valuable points for the European Rally Championship. Michal Solowow finished second, driving a Ford Fiesta S2000. The most challenging battle was that for the third place, between Tomasz Kuchar in a Peugeot 207 S2000 and Luca Rossetti, who was leading the ERC standings in the Abarth Grande Punto S2000. The battle ended in favor of the Pole. Two drivers, Bryan Bouffier and Michal Kosciuszko, were both forced to retire due to engine problems in their 207 S2000 and Fabia S2000 respectively. Unlucky was Leszek Kuzaj too, who rolled his Fabia and continued under SupeRally. The 1997 European Champion, Krzysztof Holowczyc run under the same rules, after an off during the first day. Spectators’ presence in the event was great, showing once more the interest for rallying, in Eastern Europe.
